Neighbourhood Support Security
Companies and their Salespeople
Please
note that any security company or sales person must be licenced and must be able
to produce their identification on demand.
So
if you have a door to door person trying to sell you security devices you can
ask to sight their security licence identification and also ask them for their
business card.
Some people selling door
to door are wearing some clothing that says the company that they are working
for but still ask for the identification.
If
you are approached by someone that is unable to produce their security licence
then please contact Howick Police on 5380300. Please get their name, company they
are selling for, description. If you are able to get any any motor registration
details do so.
Remember there are a number
of security devices around and if you require one please shop around and get prices,
specifications etc so you can make a well balanced informed decision. If you are
a member of Consumers Institute then
give them a call or contact them on their website - if you are not a member you
can pay a small fee and obtain some information or perhaps - join.
You
can get your alarm monitored by a security company or you can have calling your
cellphone. One other thing if your are in a group make sure all of you respond
if one another's alarm activates.
There
are a number of security companies listed in the Yellow Pages.
