Hints / Check List for when you are moving house

check list has been designed to help you to remember what needs to be done when
you are ready to move.
You

- If you are a Neighbourhood Support street coordinator have you replaced yourself
and notified your Area Co-ordinator. Otherwise if you are a member of a group
have you notified your street co-ordinator and perhaps told them the name of the
new owner | |

It is important to notify the Electricity, Water and Gas Companies prior to the
date of moving so the meters can be read on the settlement date and the final
account be sent to your new address.
It
is also important to advise Telecom three to four days before settlement date
to transfer your telephone number(s) to your new property. If you are moving to
another area you will be allocated a new number.
All
services can be arranged by phone.
Arrange
for mail redirection
The
Post Office has a system whereby you can complete and send change od address cards
advising of your new address. A redirection request lasts 2 months, but this can
be extended for a further period at a cost OR you can notify your change
of address via the Internet, just go to www.changemyaddress.co.nz
and follow the instructions.

a supply of packing cartons that's if you are packing items yourself - suggestion
that you approach your local supermarket and they may well assist you with some

shifting times with the Purchaser of your home and the owner of your new home | |

suitable arrangements for pets. Pets have special needs when moving. If you have
worries it would be advisable to contact your vet. | |

plants need careful attention. the experts say they should be packed into boxes
for protection and be the last items moved on the day of the move so that you
can take them with you. | |

each room leaving the boxes stacked and labelled | |
